With more than half the nation saying creating content online can lead to a successful career, Logitech for Creators has launched its £30,000 Up Next fund to give talent the chance to focus on their content for an entire year.

Research from Logitech for Creators UK reveals that online streaming is a hugely popular career option for the younger generation. Almost two-thirds (60%) of 18-24 year olds surveyed in the UK said they would give up their current career if they could become a successful full-time designer, and 52% of all Londoners would. jump at the chance to go online full time.

The Logitech for Creators’ Up Next fund was launched to support the dreams of a creator looking to seize their opportunity. Not only will the chosen creator receive a one-time fund of £30,000, but they will also have their own personal creative studio equipped with the best content creation tools, including Blue microphones and Mevo cameras.

The top reasons people want to quit their job and become an online streamer include being their own boss and controlling their own schedule (45%), while being creative (41%) and sharing a passion with others (37%) also ranked highly for why the nation is eager to connect and build an audience.

Only eight percent agree it’s easy to make money as a creator, with 28 percent saying they wouldn’t know where to start creating content, a further 20 percent saying they don’t know how to gain followers and up to 26 percent of age groups surveyed simply don’t have the time they need.

On average in the UK, 18-24 year olds post 3.4 times a week across multiple channels, with 57% having more than five active accounts and 58% having between 400 and 700 subscribers.

Facebook is currently the most popular social platform, with 61% of people citing it as their favorite, followed by Instagram (39%) and YouTube (37%) – all beating TikTok (16%) which took off during the pandemic. .

The research also revealed that the nation’s favorite designers are Dr. Alex George (11%), Billie Eilish (11%) and KSI (8%).
