SRINAGAR: The First-ever Free International Online Careers Summit 2020 on Career Guidance and Global Opportunities (Jobs, Education, Scholarships) in Jammu and Kashmir hosted by Startup Move Beyond, Center for Student Leadership, IIEDC, NIT Srinagar and sponsored by TEQIP III NIT Srinagar was inaugurated by the Vice-Chancellor of Central University of Kashmir, Prof. Mehraj ud din and Vice-Chancellor of Central Jammu University, Prof. Ashok Aima. The event was broadcast live on Move Beyond and NIT’s Facebook page, Srinagar.

According to the statement, the event aimed to raise awareness among students and young people about education, employment and scholarship opportunities around the world and was attended by hundreds of students online. There were approximately 2000 registrations received for the program. The state administration, in particular J&K Police and the Department of Higher Education, publicized him widely on their social media as part of their support and encouragement for such initiatives.

In addition, students were contacted individually as well as for personalized counseling sessions. The statement said that startup Move Beyond in collaboration with IIEDC, NIT Srinagar has planned a number of free counseling and mentoring programs to reach out to every student in the company for career development and a better future for young people. The startup is working on a comprehensive model of holistic youth development and ARDSA (Analyzing Requirement and Defining Solution Architecture) as its operating principle. Previously, the startup, apart from its other activities, also hosted sessions on Fullbright scholarships at the University of Kashmir where Syed Abid Rashid, IAS, where then DC Srinagar was the guest of honor. Tedx NIT Srinagar, the training of teachers of private schools in collaboration with the Association of Private Schools of Kashmir was also some of their joint initiatives.
Right now, the startup has scheduled another online career counseling summit part 2 in collaboration with Government Degree College, Kargil for students in the Ladakh region next weekend on their page.
