Career Services Partners With Handshake To Offer San Diego State University Students A New Online Career Platform That Connects Them To Thousands Of Employers And Expands Job And Internship Opportunities To nationwide.
Handshake, which replaces Aztec Career Connection, went live for SDSU students and alumni earlier this month.
Students create profiles highlighting their accomplishments, skills and interests. Handshake then generates personalized content for each student, connecting them to jobs and internships that match their interests.
âHandshake gives SDSU students direct access to Fortune 500 companies and local employers, all directly from their smartphones,â said Chris Turntine, Associate Director of Employer Services for SDSU Career Services.
Similar to a social media platform, Handshake allows students to network by communicating directly with employers, students at other universities, and recently hired graduates.
Northwestern Mutual, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Qualcomm, Deloitte, GEICO, Fidelity Investments, and Berkshire Hathaway – companies that have long recruited Aztecs – are among the major employers that have migrated to Handshake.
