Ubisoft is closing online support for 90 of its classic games on Xbox, Playstation, PC and more.

Players will lose access to their unlockable content such as maps and skins for games, and Ubisoft Connect services such as game news, player stats and challenges will also disappear from the titles in question.

Luckily the games will still work offline, but don’t expect them to get any new updates or online support over the years as the online servers have been shut down.

In a blog post, Ubisoft said: “Rewards can still be unlocked, but you will not be able to receive them in-game.”

Ubisoft is keen on people playing its new games rather than its classic titles

The game developer added, “Unlockable content (ULC) such as maps and skins will also be disabled, meaning you will no longer be able to unlock them.

“On PC, the ULC will no longer be available even if it has been used previously. On console, the ULC will continue to be available unless you reset your saved game files.”

The full list of affected titles is available below.

The announcement comes amid rumors that Ubisoft is the target of a takeover by wealthy investment companies.
